The four Martin brothers, Wallace, Walter, Edwin and Charles, were pioneers in the production of studio pottery. Biography The four Martin brothers who ran the pottery were sons of a wholesale stationer's clerk. Robert Wallace (1843 -1923), the head of the firm, studied at the Lambeth School of Art from 1860 and at the Royal Academy Schools from 1864.
